We test the Sony H5 for image noise
The Sony H5 digital camera is a pretty neat package, combining a 12x optical zoom lens with 7MP of resolution.
I did two noise tests, one with areas of plain detail, the other with a much busier image. For cameras without a RAW mode, as here, we shoot on the highest quality JPEG setting and present below a 100% crop from near the center of the image.
Test 1
80ISO
100ISO
200ISO

Test 2
80ISO

200ISO

1000ISO
In my view, image noise holds up quite well from 80ISO up to 200ISO. Image quality rapidly falls off above this, with the camera seeming to be trying to reduce the noise through processing but in the end really just degrading the image,
In my view the H5 is a nice camera to use, has decent image quality and works well at the lower ISO settings, but I would reserve the higher ISO settings for emergencies only.
