$3000 Chillout Photography Prize for the Ballarat International Foto Biennale 2009

CALL FOR ENTRY ANNOUNCED FOR THE BALLARAT INTERNATIONAL FOTO BIENNALE $3000 CHILLOUT PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE FOR 2009
The Ballarat International Foto Biennale [BIFB], in conjunction with the ChillOut Festival, which takes place over the Labour Day Weekend  of March 6 – 9 2009 in and around Daylesford in the Central Victorian Highlands,  announce the Call for Entry for the second ChillOut Photography Prize.

Entries are invited for photographic images based around the theme ‘DIVERSITY’. Short-listed   works will hang in exhibition at the Novotel Forest Resort, Creswick from  March 1st to March 15th 2009, and the show will reprise as part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale Fringe Exhibition Program from September 4th to October 4th 2009. Prize money for 2009 has been increased to $3000.   Entries close January 23rd 2009

Entries that don’t make the short-list won’t miss out altogether, as they  will also be included in a large plasma screen audio visual presentation which will run as part of the 2009  ChillOut  Prize  Exhibition.

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale has evolved from two highly successful events in Daylesford in 2005 and 2007 as the Daylesford Foto Biennale, and is developing as Australia’s largest and most important international contemporary photographic event. It is expected that BIFB’09 will attract an audience in excess of 40,000 to a range of photographic events numbering around 150 throughout Ballarat and the Hepburn Shire.
